you cannot stop
this kind rain
it falls in floods
cascades in sheets
it is the rain
created by the melting snow
the melted flakes
that once floated down
you cannot shelter from
this kind rain
it will find the unmended
hole in the coat
you wear
and wet you through
the only thing you can do
is give in
where once was a desert now
a patch of green
sweet new life has grown
reaching up
to the mother sun
let it in
you cannot alter
the kind rain
it feeds the thirsty place
that needs water
every other place is foreign
to you now
the only thing you can do is give in
to the kind rain
